Added Text with Toolkit results in boxes instead of the correct characters

The text added to a PDF with Toolkit results in boxes in place of each character.

Probable Cause

The font's embeddability property needs to be set to editable.

Resolution

Set the font's embeddability property so that it is editable and can be used and embedded by Toolkit. 

To set the Font Embeddability property:

1. Locate the font in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
2. Right-click the font file, and then select Properties.
3. In the Properties window, click the Details 
4. Change the Font Embeddability to Editable.

This allows the font to be used and embedded in Toolkit.

Note: Depending on your version of Microsoft Windows, you may be unable to view advanced font properties, including Font Embeddability. If you are unable to view these font properties, download and install the Microsoft Font Properties Extension according to the instructions at http://www.microsoft.com/typography/TrueTypeProperty21.mspx.
