Installing ActivePDF Products on a Windows 2012 R2 Server
To resolve the Windows Script Host error message such as: ActiveX component can't create object: APToolkit.Object.
If you are installing an ActivePDF product (released in 2017 or later) on a Windows 2012 server, you need to download and install two Microsoft updates for Windows 2012 servers. These updates resolve issues with the Microsoft Visual 2015 C++ Redistributable Runtime Component.
- Download and install KB2919442:
- Go to: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42153
- Download the installer named: Windows8.1-KB2919442-x64 .msu
- Run the installer and follow the instructions.
- After installation, restart the machine.
- Download and install KB2919355:
- Go to: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42334
- Click Download and from the list, select these two files:
- clearcompressionflag.exe
- Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu
- Run clearcompresssionflag.exe and then Windows8.1-KB2919355-x64.msu.
- Restart the machine.
- If:
- You have not installed the ActivePDF product yet:
Install the ActivePDF product now.
- You installed the ActivePDF product before Step 1:
Follow these additional steps:- In the Control Panel, go to Uninstall or Change a Program.
- Locate:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x86)
- One at a time, select each version, double click, and select Repair.
- Uninstall, then re-Install the ActivePDF product.
- You have not installed the ActivePDF product yet:
